We met with the team on Friday (17.10.2014) in the main station, Brno Hlavní nádraží and took the train, we were going to stop in Teplice nad Metují first and spend the night in a hostel.

The next day (18.10.2014), after we had breakfast, we started our journey. We went to see the Adršpach-Teplice rocks first.

the Adršpach-Teplice rocks were declared as a national nature reserve in 1933 for the protection of rock towns.

We had an opportunity to see stone formations, like Mammoth cave, Gothic gate or Mayor and his wife.

After the great tour through Adršpach-Teplice rocks we took the train again and we headed for a town called Trutnov. Afterwards we continued our journey to Pec pod Sněžkou with a stop at bobsleigh.

And after this, at the end of the day, we arrived at our accommodation place called Děčínská bouda, where we would spend the night, before starting our hike to Sněžka the next day.

On Sunday (19.10.2014), we had breakfast in form of self-service buffet, so everybody filled up in order to have energy for the most important thing of the weekend – Sněžka. After some efforts we made it on top. The weather was really good and sunny and the view was beautiful.

One side of the mountain is in Czech Republic; the other belongs to the Poland. The area is very popular in summer with tourists from the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany who enjoy hiking in the alpine environment one of a kind to this location.

On the Polish side a disc-shaped observatory and restaurant was built in 1974, a weather station and the St. Lawrence chapel. On the Czech side are the remains of the Bohemian hut, a post office, and a chairlift station, connecting the peak with the town of Pec pod Sněžkou at the base of the mountain.
